Tue Sep 19, 2006 Last Wednesday Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska celebrated its 20th anniversary with a party and a rollerski race on a newly-paved trail paralleling the park road. The race was organized by Ronn Randall of the Anchorage Parks & Recreation Department, who also organized a sprint rollerski race at Cuddy Park in Anchorage last month. With great weather for the 6:00 PM start, over 60 athletes showed up to take part. In the men's 10K Eric Strabel just edged UAA head coach Trond Flagstad by six seconds to take the win. Up and coming junior Eric Packer of Alaska Winter Stars was third. In the women's 5K, APU and US Ski Team member Kikkan Randall had to work pretty hard to hold off Kasandra Rice by 4 seconds. Kikkan's APU & USST teammate Tazlina Mannix was third.

September 17, 2006 - Skiers got a jump of their City of Lakes Loppet training on Saturday morning with the annual Roller Rally event. The 20K or 40K rollerski/bike/inline skate event featured the scenic Cedar, Kenilworth and SW LRT trails, with the start and finish at Hoigaard's Under the Big Tent sale. Cloudy skies broke away to sunshine before skiers had finished their first lap.

The session concentrated on classic technique on rollerskis using the gentle incline of the quiet entrance road leading into the park. June 30, 2005 - We dropped in Thursday morning at the Battle Creek Ravine area to check out Finn Sisu's summer juniors program.
